If anyone doubts our prerogative to persuade others, let them read the words of the apostle Paul, who writes: “…we labour, that, whether present or absent, we may be accepted of him. For we must all appear before the judgment seat of Christ; that everyone may receive the things done in his body, according to that he hath done, whether it be good or bad. Knowing therefore the terror of the Lord, we persuade men” (2 Corinthians 5:9-11). If we buy an excellent product that works well, most of us will not hesitate to tell others about it, encouraging them to consider buying one themselves. How much more ought we to share the news of the One who makes all things new! There is little that is more persuasive than the message of a happy customer! People get excited when they talk about the things that matter most to them. The best argument we can give for the gospel is its life-changing impact. When we tell of how our life has been transformed, this is an argument hard to resist.
