"A Church with no walls can grow without limitation, but a church in a building, however large, will always be limited. It is time to go beyond the church model of Constantine to a new expression of the ekklesia."

    Rev'd Dr John Gibson

We are a group of believers who choose to live and worship according to the pattern of the first Christian church, founded by Jesus Christ at Jerusalem in the first century.

We come from all branches, expressions, and denominations of the Christian faith, brought together by our shared beginnings. Members of existing churches remain fully committed to their church 'families', whilst many new believers choose to make this their home.

From its inception at Jerusalem, the first Church grew and developed over succeeding centuries, remaining one church until it became divided in the year 1054. Since that time there have been many more church 'splits' but it remans the case that every new church movement is descended from and rooted in this first church established by Christ Himself. Consequently, it is no more possible to remove the First Church of Jerusalem from the global Body of Christ than it is to remove one's birth from their life!

The First Church of Jerusalem is a place where those of every denomination and none, who identify with the life of the historic first church, may come together.

Standing together with all Christians of every denomination in the love of God and the unity of the faith

    we are:

A force for good on earth

For as long as Jesus' Church is found on earth, evil is restrained and good is advanced.

  • What We Believe

    Statement of Faith

    Christ died for our sins

    In accordance with the Scriptures,

    He was buried,

And He was raised on the third day,

    In accordance with the Scriptures.

    1 Corinthians 15:3,4

  • What We Do

To share, to establish, to build, and to heal

    broken image

    Sharing the Gospel with all

We proclaim throughout the earth the message of God’s saving and healing love showered upon us through the Cross of Christ, that all may be drawn to Him, know His love and enjoy the assurance of life eternal.

    broken image

    Establishing believers in faith

We encourage all believers to practise the presence of God, endeavouring to seek Him daily in all things, diligently listening to His voice and obediently following His perfect guidance for every aspect of daily life.

    broken image

Building the Church throughout the world

We work to help restore, encourage, and strengthen the worldwide church in its experiential communion with God, that all its members may grow in His knowledge and likeness, seeking Him daily and following Him faithfully.

    broken image

    Promoting healing, health & wellbeing

We seek to promote a Christian understanding of personhood, to provide training in this model for all, and to develop Christian resources based on this approach, in medicine, psychology, and the other caring professions.

  • May the LORD bless you and protect you

May the LORD smile on you and be gracious to you

May the LORD show you His favour

    and give you His peace
