Yesterday we spoke of the standard God raises over His children in times of trouble. Can you picture that standard in your mind’s eye? Picture it now, for it is real. See that standard being raised up now over your troubles and your life! What is that standard? It is the standard of your Father, the Great King, to whom you are the most dearly loved daughter or son. The Bible tells us that the standard over you and I is love (Song of Solomon 2:4). This is no less than the battle standard of God’s loving care for you (Hebrew: ‘chesed’ – the loving kindness of God). So, knowing this, with the apostle Paul, and all those who daily walk and talk with Jesus, we may give thanks… “Now thanks be to God who always leads us in triumph in Christ, and through us diffuses the fragrance of His knowledge in every place” (2 Corinthians 2:14). Remember this: you’re not a loser, you’re a diffuser! In stark contrast to the rotten stench of death and decay that so often characterises life in a dying world, we bring the fragrance of life, the delightful scent of freedom!
