What happens in Heaven when the forces of sin and death are besieging your life or mine? I will tell you, based on Bible prophecy. God takes a stand on your behalf. The prophet Isaiah describes this with a military metaphor when he says, “When the enemy comes in like a flood, I will raise up a standard against him” (Isaiah 59:19). Have you ever felt ‘swamped’ with problems and concerns? I certainly have. And when I do, and it may seem as though the forces of sin and death are winning in my life, I remember the promise of God’s word that He is raising up a standard against my enemies. Let us be quite clear that this standard represents an unbeatable force, released through an unconquerable army, the combined forces of Heaven itself, the Kingdom to which by grace we belong. Let us rally to the standard of God, that we might prevail with Him.
