As a psychologist, I have often encouraged people to distinguish between having a failure and being a failure. These are two very different things. Of course, they may be combined, but it is both unwise and incorrect to assume that they are synonymous realities. They are not. The Bible teaches that God always leads us in victory (2 Corinthians 2:14). In other words, a victor is who you are. It is your nature, and I would strongly encourage you to embrace the truth of that afresh today. The Bible also teaches that we will face many trials and tribulations on this life (Psalm 34:19), and this will inevitably include failures. Certainly, from a psychological angle, failure is often necessary for later success, as it is usually an integral part of the learning process. As someone once said, “The person who never made a mistake never made anything!” If you love Jesus and are doing your best to walk and talk with Him, don’t see yourself as a failure. Yes, it is true that of yourself you can do nothing but remember that with Him nothing is impossible!
