There are times in life when we may feel weak or powerless, times when we simply don’t have the earthly resources to do what needs to be done. From a human angle, such times can be frustrating and disappointing, but from a supernatural perspective such times can be times of opportunity. I believe it was Rees Howells who said, “Man’s extremity is God’s opportunity.” He knew what it meant to lift our eyes above the earthly and trust to Heaven’s power. Before Jesus went to the Cross, He promised His disciples that they would receive “power from on high” (Luke 24:49), that is, all the power needed to live for God and fulfil our work on earth. He said: “You shall receive power when theHoly Spirit has come upon you; and you shall be witnesses to Me in Jerusalem,
and in all Judea and Samaria, and to the end of the earth” (Acts 1:8). When your hope is weak and the battle seems lost, hold on to your faith in God, for He will raise you up, and in the power of His Spirit you shall prevail.
