Whenever you are tempted or feel that you are under spiritual attack, remember that your faith is a strong shield that the lies of the Devil cannot penetrate. This shield
embodies a living proof of the veracity of God’s word. Proof settles things. Until we have it, there is conjecture and uncertainty. Uncertainty then generates anxiety. But when we get proof, the matter is settled. When Satan tempted God in the wilderness, he sought to shift Jesus away from this foundation of faith, by requiring a different kind of proof. For to "tempt" God means to test Him in a way that demands He prove Himself in a visible way that requires no faith at all. Satan wanted Jesus to provide signs, guarantees, or miraculous interventions to validate His presence or power. When Jesus refused to throw Himself off the temple to provoke God’s protection, He demonstrated that true faith does not manipulate or challenge God to act on our terms. Instead, it trusts in His goodness without demanding visible proof. Jesus’ faith was strong, and so will ours be if we daily walk and talk with Him, holding high the shield of faith against all the fiery arrows of the Enemy!
