“Blessed are the poor in spirit, for theirs is the kingdom of heaven” (Matthew 5:3). Those who continually humble themselves before God discover that heaven’s kingdom is already breaking into their lives with peace, strength, discernment, and hope amid uncertainty and darkness. The poor in spirit are not weak people defeated by life, but faithful souls who actively trust God above themselves, leaning upon Him moment by moment, and therefore they are able to endure trials, resist deception, and live expectantly for Christ’s return, knowing that true blessing is found not in worldly success but in wholehearted dependence upon the King whose kingdom will never pass away. Remember that as you are diligent and faithful to daily walk and talk with Jesus, following His guidance each step of the way, Heaven is invading earth, with its light that no darkness can overcome, and its amazing grace that changes wretches like us!
