Jesus said, “Give, and it will be given to you: good measure, pressed down, shaken together, and running over will be put into your bosom. For with the same measure that you use, it will be measured back to you” (Luke 6:38). When we give, we give to God, for Jesus made this clear when He describes the words of God at the judgement to come: “Assuredly, I say to you, inasmuch as you did it to one of the least of these My brethren, you did it to Me” (Matthew 25:40). God’s repayments infinitely exceed anything that might be expected from men. A life of giving yields a mighty river of overflowing grace to the giver that cannot be stemmed or denied. This is neither karma, nor any similar conception of one-to-one reward, but a one-to-infinity ratio of return. It is God’s law of reciprocal generosity.
