When we observe others, we can see many individual differences. One of these is their level of generosity. Some are so giving that we immediately sense their kind and generous nature when we meet them. Others are not so benevolent, and some are downright mean! The question may be asked, “Where is God on this scale?” We may say that God is with us and that He helps us, but how much? It can certainly feel sometimes as though He isn’t there and that He’s not doing anything at all. But is this true? However strong our feelings, and feelings should not be ignored, are they a valid description of what is happening? Of course not! Emotional reality is not total reality. In any and every situation, the truth is that “God shall supply all your need according to His riches in glory by Christ Jesus” (Philippians 4:19). God is not just helping you – He is helping you richly, for He is the most loving and helpful person you will ever meet. Do not be deceived by what you feel. Remember the facts. He will supply all your need.
