Today's Early Church Wisdom
““Hitherto I have served you as a soldier; allow me now to become a soldier to God. Let
the man who is to serve you receive your donative. I am a soldier of Christ; it is not
permissible for me to fight.”
~ Martin of Tours (315AD – 397AD)
This week's Psalm is Psalm 30 'Joy Comes With The Morning'

God Will Provide What Is Needed

Whatever we may be going through, it is good to remember that God is not merely with us – He is with us to strengthen us and to guide us. Often when things are hard, it can seem as though He is not there, or even that He does not care. These lies should be actively resisted lest they take root in our hearts, undermining our faith, our peace, and our confidence in God. For those who wait in faith, God’s provision will be seen, though it may not always come in quite the way we expected. When Abraham was willing to sacrifice his son Isaac, should God require it, God provided instead a ram for the sacrifice, and Abraham “called the name of the place, The-Lord-Will-Provide [Hebrew: Jehovah-Jireh); as it is said to this day, “In the Mount of the Lord it shall be provided” (Genesis 22:14). For those, like Abraham, who seek to walk obediently with God, He is their provider. Therefore, in all our times of need, we may confidently say with Abraham, “The Lord will provide!”
