Collapsing Into the Arms of Jesus

When times get hard and difficulties come, people can become emotionally drained, and fatigue can influence the way they see things. There are times when the bad news seems to be shouting so much louder than the good, and the effort required to be positive or ‘look on the bright side’ seems all too much. At such times we may be able to do very little, and may experience some kind of collapse, or even breakdown. I have seen people literally slump, falling into a chair, or collapsing on a bed. God knows that at such times our strength has gone and never condemns us for our weakness or our despair. But He does offer us place to collapse – in His arms. He says, “Come to Me, all you that are heavy laden, and I will give you rest” (Matthew 11:28). When there is nothing more that we can do, let us throw ourselves into the loving arms of Jesus, and He will give us rest.
