Perspective is important. Ask any artist! If the perspective is wrong, things look strange, unnatural, even worrying. As in the visual arts, so in the observations and attitudes of men. When a trained photographer takes a photo, he or she doesn’t usually just point the camera and click the shutter. They look for the best angle, the best perspective, from which to take the shot. When a trained mind considers a matter, it doesn’t just leap to the first assumption or conclusion, but it examines the evidence to arrive at the best and most informed perspective on the matter. Science and reason, though excellent tools, can only take us so far. To arrive at the wisest and most accurate understanding we must access a data source infinitely beyond anything humanly possible, beyond even the scope of developing AI technology. There is, and will only ever be, one Source of this kind – the blessed, holy, and life-giving Trinity. When we choose to daily walk and talk with Jesus, we become the best informed of human beings. Each time we hear God’s word, we discover something more about how he sees the world. His words reflect how He sees us, our present situation, and the wider world context in which we live. The more we listen, the more we understand Him, and the more we know His heart.
