Our title today might sound a little bit crazy: ‘Remember how it ends.’ But it’s one of the sanest ways of looking ahead, not merely at tomorrow, but at the rest of one’s life on earth. Why? Because as Isaiah says, God knows the end from the beginning, and He, not the devil, gets to write the ending of our earthly life. Isaiah says: “Remember the former things of old, for I am God, and there is no other; I am God, and there is none like Me, declaring the end from the beginning, and from ancient times things that are not yet done, saying, ‘My counsel shall stand, and I will do all My pleasure’” (Isaiah 46:9-10). God knows the end from the beginning, and for all those who seek to daily walk and talk with Him it’s a good end, the victorious conclusion of a life devoted to His service. Unlike those who reject God, and who worry about where it will all end, we know the end in advance, and that for those who love God everything works out ok. What He has decreed stands forever.
