Just as most of us would not think of leaving our home in a state of undress, so it is important to check our spiritual covering. I’m not referring to the false theology, often found in cults, that sets some believers over others, rather than honour and respect the total submission and consecration of each believer to God. Such thinking is a grave error that stifles the growth of believers to maturity and opens the door to psychological abuse, manipulation, and control. No, I am referring to our spiritual clothing. In the Biblical example of a spiritual woman found in Proverbs, she is described thus: “Strength and honour are her clothing; she shall rejoice in time to come” (Proverbs 31:25). Through her daily walk with God and faithful obedience to Him, she has ‘put on’ strength and honour, and consequently, she has every reason to face the future with confidence and joy. She is an example to us all. Put on your strength and honour afresh today, and you will face tomorrow equipped for whatever it may bring.
