Life can be confusing at times, and as we face tomorrow it can be hard to know what to do. If there are some reliable instructions that we can follow, or a trustworthy map to guide us, that can help a great deal, but there are times when even these valuable resources are not enough. Of course, there are occasions in life where guidance of any kind may seem entirely lacking. In such situations, where human wisdom fails, some of us may turn to God, which is, of course, the best thing we could do, for as Solomon says, “A man’s heart plans his way, but the Lord directs his steps” (Proverbs 16:9). If our turning to Him involves picturing Him with us, and imagining Him speak, we will hear the Great Shepherd’s guiding voice. We may need to practice this for a while, so that we learn to reliably discriminate between His voice, our own projections, and the deceptive words of the demons, but if we make this our lifestyle, He will guide us, for the Lord directs the steps of those who commit their way to Him. Let Him guide your steps today.
