However intelligent and qualified we may be, we remain limited in knowledge and wisdom. We are finite beings, limited in both our physicality and our knowledge. This means that even in circumstances where we believe that we are doing the right thing, it is possible that, were we to be in possession of all the data relating to the situation, we would realise that there was a better course of action and proceed differently. Limited knowledge guarantees limited goodness. Only by communicating with an all-knowing and all-wise source, may we escape from this limitation. This is one reason why it is imperative that we walk and talk with Jesus daily. He will show us exactly what we need to see and know, if we will actively seek Him. If we desire the greatest knowledge and the deepest wisdom, there is only one place to go, and that is Habakkuk’s watchtower (Habakkuk 2), David’s stillness (Psalm 46), and the Psalmist’s ‘secret place’ (Psalm 91).
