United In Glory

Victory in Jesus

A life of oneness with God is a life that glorifies God. A life of commitment to self is a life that glorifies self. A life of commitment to sin is a life that glorifies sin. What do we seek in our life? Jesus said, “I seek not Mine own glory” (Jn.8:50,54). He stayed close to His Father and His Father was glorified. If we’ll stay close to Jesus, God will be glorified in our life, and one day we will hear those precious words, “‘Well done, good and faithful servant; you were faithful over a few things, I will make you ruler over many things. Enter into the joy of your lord’” (Matthew 25:21). The key is to let Jesus lead, just as they did at the start. Many believers throughout church history, and particularly in more modern times, have longed to return and recapture the love, life, and power of the early church. Some have even sought to model new churches along early church lines. Commendable though such efforts may be their success will always rest on the degree to which they are submitted to the leadership of Christ through the Holy Spirit, for success in Kingdom terms always flows out of our oneness with God. Those who would enjoy the blessing of Christ must be willing to follow the guidance of Christ. Jesus remained the active leader of the first church community. He was not the leader in name only but the One to whom the first believers looked daily for encouragement and guidance. Whatever the attitude of those around us may be in relation to the practice of the presence of God, let us make Jesus our leader and go to Him daily for understanding and direction, that He may be glorified. Jesus is waiting to build His church!
