I once recall a neighbour knocking vigorously on my door to tell me that he had discovered the secret to inner peace. He was quite ecstatic, and for a moment I hoped that he might have found a personal relationship with God. But this was not the case. He quickly pulled a small bottle of capsules from his pocket and thrust them before me. “This is the answer” he said, smiling brightly: “Happy Life tablets.” Yes, that was their name, and no, they did not bring him peace, as was evident from his demeanour over the days that followed. The world offers many false paths to peace, but the Spirit births an undeniable and indelible peace in our hearts. The peace of the Holy Spirit permeated the early church, providing a sense of calm and assurance amidst external turmoil. This peace was evident in their unity and harmonious relationships. Acts 4:32 states that "all the believers were one in heart and mind." This unity was a powerful testimony to the reconciling work of Christ and the presence of the Holy Spirit, fostering a community where members could rest secure, conflicts were better resolved, and love triumphed over misunderstandings and failure.
