What is the best way to find peace? Many things may contribute to peace of mind. A clear conscience, a safe and secure environment, and a good income are just a few of the things that may help us to feel more relaxed. But none of these can deliver a full and lasting peace of the deepest kind, for the source of peace does not belong to this troubled and uncertain world. Only when we discover the true Source of peace can we transcend the psychological limitations of our finiteness, including our emotional well-being. Knowing the grace, the apostle Paul writes: “Be anxious for nothing, but in everything by prayer and supplication, with thanksgiving, let your requests be made known to God; and the peace of God, which surpasses all understanding, will guard your hearts and minds through Christ Jesus” (Philippians 4:6-7). Paul knew the secret of peace. He knew the Source of it and did not hesitate to point the way to that Source. When we practice the presence of God with us, and in that holy place of contemplation, we begin to talk with Him about our needs and concerns, He will speak with us, and His word will still even the most violent emotional storm! Receive His word of peace today.
