Will we die leaving no unfinished business? Probably not. Will everything we do be faultless in every detail? No. Will we do in life everything we would like to do? Possible not. But will we perfectly complete our God given mission on earth if we diligently walk with Him? Yes! The Psalmist says, “The Lord will perfect that which concerns me” (Psalm 138:8). This is a most encouraging spiritual reality. In a world of uncertainty, suffering, and loss, here is a strong affirmation that God always guarantees His own work. Whatever we do for Him will stand, even in eternity. This applies to the whole of our life, if we choose to daily seek God, listen to His voice, and faithfully follow His guidance. No other path will deliver this outcome. Only a life following God’s direction will arrive at God’s destination. Therefore, let us lay aside all activities that God did not order, and seek to build a life of continual communion with Him. It’s not possible to concentrate on God every moment of every day, but we can walk with Him as we would walk with a friend, turning to Him often for inspiration, advice, and guidance.
