Today's Early Church Wisdom
“For the Gentiles, hearing from our mouth the words of God, are impressed by their beauty and greatness: then, learning that our works are not worthy of the things we say, they turn to railing, saying that it is some deceitful tale. For when they hear from us that God says: ‘No thanks will be due to you, if ye love only those who love you; but thanks will be due to you, if ye love your enemies and those that hate you’—when they hear this, they are impressed by the overplus of goodness: but when they see that we do not love, not only those who hate us, but even those who love us, they laugh at us, and the Name is blasphemed.”
~ The 2nd Epistle of Clement (140-160AD
This week's Psalm is Psalm 30 'Joy Comes With The Morning'

Fully Resourced

Because God has planned our path, we will be fully resourced at every step. We all need resources, whether it’s money, knowledge, opportunity, or whatever. In his letter to the Philippians, the apostle Paul writes, “And my God will supply every need of yours according to his riches in glory in Christ Jesus” (Philippians 4:19, ESV). As someone once said, “God’s work will never lack God’s resources.” There’s nothing wrong about being aware of our situation. Only a fool shuts his eyes to reality. But on what do we base our hope? If we are only trusting in what we see, there may be times when we lose hope entirely. But if we are trusting in Jesus, we have additional data, which though it is invisible to the naked eye, is altogether reliable, trustworthy, and true. This is the rock of faith on which we stand.
