Some maintain that there is no God. According to the Bible, this is the position adopted by fools, those who observe the overwhelming evidence for God, but who deny Him and rationalise their position with spurious arguments from pseudo-science, and the crazy idea that His existence is somehow precluded by the horror of human suffering.
“If there is a God,” we hear them say, “How can He allow such terrible things?” In the face of such undeniable pain, these rebels naively and sometimes conveniently assume that there is no God. This is a common position adopted by those who mistakenly assume that the extent, and sometimes the horror, of human suffering that we see on earth indicates that there is no God. What’s the best way to prove that something exists? To go and see for yourself! If you do not yet know God, this is my advice to you: go and see. The Bible encourages us to “Taste and see that the Lord is good” (Psalm 34:8).
