A Parable of Bees

We have a saying that people are sometimes drawn to things ‘like bees round a honeypot.’ When bees know the honey is there, they will come. In our day, people are as spiritually hungry as ever, but sadly many see nothing in the church to draw them. It is as though there is no honey, and people, like bees, sense that. Put the honey back in the Church and guess what? – the people will come. In fact, we won’t be able to stop them! They’ll fly to it. A church that does not actively abide in Christ, cannot properly be called a church. It might look like a church outwardly, and I guess it could certainly be a copy of the church, but a copy is not an original. So-called ‘churches’ where there is no daily commitment to walking and talking with Jesus, individually and together, are phoney. They are at best ‘imitations. Fake bees make no honey – let us be real ones!
