Today's Early Church Wisdom
“For the Gentiles, hearing from our mouth the words of God, are impressed by their beauty and greatness: then, learning that our works are not worthy of the things we say, they turn to railing, saying that it is some deceitful tale. For when they hear from us that God says: ‘No thanks will be due to you, if ye love only those who love you; but thanks will be due to you, if ye love your enemies and those that hate you’—when they hear this, they are impressed by the overplus of goodness: but when they see that we do not love, not only those who hate us, but even those who love us, they laugh at us, and the Name is blasphemed.”
~ The 2nd Epistle of Clement (140-160AD
This week's Psalm is Psalm 30 'Joy Comes With The Morning'

What Healing Do You Need?

What healing would you say that you need in your life right now? I’m not just talking about physical healing needs, though your need may be of this kind. But I am talking about healing in the widest sense of the word, for there are a very great number of ways in which we all need healing in this life. Our healing need begins at the moment of conception and continues throughout our life in this fallen world. All kinds of things may potentially contribute to our healing as we tread the path of life, but however healing comes, it is important to recognise that it has only one ultimate Source. If we are wise, it is to this Source we will come, and it is in this Source that we will place our trust. Whatever may contribute to healing, whether it is the healing of individuals, or the healing of groups, or the healing of nations, these things can only ever be channels of God’s grace, never the Source. Whatever earthly resources we may employ in the service of healing, let us go to our Source and pray in faith for healing!
