Living in His presence, we transcend the limitations of this present age and experience the wellbeing of our soul. In contrast with the perfect health that awaits our final transformation, this is a condition that we enjoy now, an inner state often characterised by feelings of contentment, satisfaction, happiness, or joy. This blessed state derives only from our personal relationship with Jesus. It cannot be found anywhere else. As C.S. Lewis says: “God cannot give us a happiness and peace apart from Himself, because it is not there. There is no such thing.” The healing process begins and ends with God. He is both the author and the finisher of it. Whilst many things may contribute to healing, the power to heal flows only from heaven. When we come to God by faith, we are spiritually born again into Heaven’s kingdom, and if we continue with Him in personal relationship, walking and talking with Him from day to day, His Spirit gradually transforms us into His likeness.
