As John Chrysostom observed, Christ began His ministry not with condemnation but with “the glad tidings of the kingdom of heaven,” revealing that God’s reign had broken into human history through the Messiah. Likewise, N. T. Wright wrote that Jesus announced, “God’s sovereign rule arriving on earth as in heaven.” C. S. Lewis reminded believers that “we are never living in an ordinary moment,” because eternity presses continually upon the present. In an age marked by confusion, moral drift, anxiety, wars, spiritual emptiness, and relentless distraction, Christ’s command remains profoundly relevant: turn your mind, heart, and trust back toward God before your soul is consumed by lesser kingdoms. Let us be faithful to our nation, which is not a kingdom of this world. Let us be patriots, proud to be citizens of Heaven. Let us be ambassadors, bring the life-changing word of peace to the hearts of men.
