How’s your diet? I’m not talking about what food you eat (important though that is), but your spiritual diet. Just as what we put in our mouths affects our body and its functioning, so what we put in our spirit affects our life. Both Moses and Christ both state plainly that: “Man shall not live by bread alone, but byevery word that proceeds from the mouth of God.” (Deuteronomy 8:3; Matthew 4:4). Their message is that it is possible to stay connected with Heaven so that we are consistently receiving the sustenance that Heaven provides. How do we do this? Simply by daily walking and talking with Jesus. His word is food to our hungry soul. His water is refreshment to our thirsty heart. This is the the healthiest lifestyle ever known to humanity: the life we live in Christ Jesus. It’s a friendship in which the Spirit of God will lead us “into all truth” (John 16:13), that is, all we need to know to livemost fully – inside information. It’s time to choose the only adequate spiritual diet.
