Sometimes the best thing we can do is to escape from a threatening situation. Matthew’s gospel describes the time where King Herod was planning to murder the infants at Bethlehem in the hope of destroying Yeshua, and “an angel of the Lord appeared to Joseph [His father] in a dream, saying, “Arise, take the young Child and His mother, flee to Egypt, and stay there until I bring you word; for Herod will seek the young Child to destroy Him.” When he arose, he took the young Child and His mother by night and departed for Egypt, and was there until the death of Herod, that it might be fulfilled which was spoken by the Lord through the prophet, saying, “Out of Egypt I called My Son.” (Matthew 2:13-15). Here was a Divine avoidance plan of the first order. There will be times when God will guide you in this way, but again I say to you, you must listen. Stay as close as you can to Jesus, that you might receive and respond to the promptings of His Spirit, as He seeks to lead you through the many trials and dangers of this life.
